Thought I'd throw this out for discussion. I'm always curious what tires people run and why, whether it is riding style, price, or whatnot. I've almost always run Dunlop original equipment tires on my bikes (currently 2000 FLHT), but just got done getting Michelin Commanders mounted front and rear. Seeing as how we just got about 12" of snow it's going to be awhile before I get to try them out
I used to always get somewhere between 8500-9000 miles on a rear, and double that on front tires. Since my engine work made it so much more fun to blast around on, I ran my last rear 7,200 miles and it was junk. No burnouts or anything like that, just good hard riding.
A buddy of mine put the Michelins on his RoadGlide and says they are the best handling tires he's ever had, so I thought I'd try em out. Don't know if anybody here has run them or not, but when I get to ride I'll let 'ya know what I think. And I'll know by mid-summer how they hold up as far as mileage goes.
