There are fork cup removal tools, but they're fucking expensive, and usually only shops that do it a lot buy them. I got the cups out of an old sporty one time by getting some mild steel round stock (or you can use an old extension, or a punch with a flat end). Slip the "tool" through the fork cup and get it to rest against the fork cup inner edge at the other end of the neck (the end of your tool should be flat). Use a plastic hammer, or be really careful with your steel hammer, and tap on the end of the tool GENTLY, while moving the tool around the edge of the inside of the cup. It will take some time, but eventually you'll tap the thing out. Make sure to keep moving that tool around and around so you don't get the cup crooked. Trying to grab the thing with a mongo set of grips rarely works, but you can try it if nothing else works. Don't grab it with TOO much pressure or it will distort the cup and make it even harder to get out.
If you want to get really fancy, you can make a tool out of nails. See pic.

I tried it. It didn't work. Not sayin' it won't work. It just didn't work for me. The cups are in there pretty tight, usually, so you need a good, rigid bar between the hammer and the cup edge.....

Sometimes the simplest solution is the one that works best....
